The All India Bar Examination is not a competitive exam. Every candidate who scores above the AIBE cut-off 2026 marks will be considered to have passed. The candidates who clear the bar exam will be awarded a Certificate of Practice (CoP), which is a necessary certificate to practice law in India.
The BCI determines the AIBE 21 cut-off marks as per the AIBE final answer key. As per the AIBE exam pattern 2026, the bar exam is for a total of 100 marks. The AIBE cut-off marks reduce when revisions are made in the final answer key. These revisions are according to the objections raised by candidates during the objection window. Candidates who have scores above the AIBE 21 cutoff will be deemed to have qualified for the bar exam. Even though the AIBE cut-off percentage remains the same, the actual cut-off marks may change from one session to another.

Given below are the important factors that determine the cut-off for AIBE 21
Withdrawal of questions by BCI: Some questions can be withdrawn altogether by BCI, thus reducing the total marks in the AIBE 21 question paper.
Erroneous questions with multiple correct answers: If a question has multiple correct answers, BCI may also award full marks to those who attempted the question or it may nullify the question.
Objections accepted by BCI: The AIBE 21 cut-off will also vary depending on the type of objections accepted by BCI.
BCI will release the AIBE 21 final answer key on its official website after considering the objections raised by the candidates. The final answer key is the main determining factor in deciding the AIBE 21 cut-off. Given below are the steps explaining how the AIBE final answer key is prepared.
Publication of AIBE provisional answer key: BCI published the AIBE provisional answer key soon after the exam on its official website. Candidates can use the provisional answer key to calculate their probable marks in the exam. Upon release, the authorities will also open an objection-raising window for candidates to submit their objections.
Submitting objections against AIBE provisional answer key: Candidates can submit objections against the provisional answer key of AIBE with supporting proof through the official website. Candidates can submit the objections in online mode only.
Publication of AIBE 2026 final answer key: AIBE has also published the AIBE final answer key after considering all the valid objections. Based on the objections, some of the answers may be changed. Some questions may also be withdrawn, which will bring down the total marks in the AIBE exam and thus the AIBE 21 cut off marks as well.
