    National Law University (NLU), Delhi, is expected to release the official AILET 2027 notification in August 2026. Based on the recent revisions in the AILET exam pattern, the exam pattern will remain unchanged. As one of the most competitive law entrance exams in India, the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) remains the exclusive gateway for admission to the BA LLB (Hons.), LLM, and PhD programs at NLU Delhi. The BA LLB paper will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions focusing on English, Logical Reasoning, and General Knowledge. There is a negative mark of 0.25 for each wrongly answered question. The duration of the AILET exam is 120 minutes. As per the AILET 2027 pattern, the BA LLB course comprises three sections: English Language, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and Logical Reasoning. There will be no descriptive sections in the AILET exam pattern while keeping the duration at 120 minutes. Aspiring candidates must go through the structure and pattern of the AILET question paper to prepare better for the exam.

    For the 2027 academic session, the AILET exam is scheduled to take place on December 13, 2026. It must be noted that NLU Delhi will conduct the All India Law Entrance Test in offline (pen-and-paper) mode for admission into its BA LLB (Hons.) programme. For its LLM admissions, the university will conduct the All India Law Entrance Test PG, again in offline mode as per the AILET LLM 2027 pattern. The AILET 2027 LLM paper will feature 100 law-based objective questions. The AILET exam pattern provides the candidates with information about the test structure, marking scheme and sections in the exam.     AILET Question Paper Pattern 2027

    In an effort to make the AILET more supportive for students, National Law University (NLU) Delhi maintains the current structure with extended testing time. The exam duration remains 120 minutes for both UG and PG papers. Similarly, for the AILET PG paper, the university had removed the descriptive section and instead kept only an objective section that would have multiple-choice questions on law.     • Legal Aptitude and Elementary Mathematics sections have been removed from the exam pattern of AILET

    AILET Syllabus 2027

    NLU Delhi prescribes the AILET syllabus on its official website along with the exam pattern. The syllabus of AILET BA LLB 2027 includes three sections on English, GK and reasoning. The time duration has been increased in the AILET new exam pattern, the syllabus has been kept the same. On the other hand, the AILET PG syllabus 2027 covers different areas of law.     AILET Exam Pattern 2027: Tie-Breaking Rule

    If two candidates have obtained the same marks in the AILET 2027 exam, the merit list will be prepared based on the following factors.

    • Candidates who get higher marks in the logical reasoning section will get priority.
    • If the AILET merit remains the same, candidates of higher age will be given precedence.
    • If the merit persists, the authorities will conduct computerised lot draws.
