AIBE Exam Syllabus 2025: The Bar Council of India (BCI) will prescribe the AIBE 20 syllabus 2025 through an official notification on its website - allindiabarexamination.com. BCI will publish the AIBE 20 new syllabus on its official website soon. The AIBE syllabus 2025 will test the candidate's knowledge about different laws and suitability to practise law. The AIBE exam syllabus 2025 is a test of what the candidates learnt during their law programme. The All India Bar Examination syllabus 2025 comprises 19 subjects or topics on different aspects of law. AIBE 20 will consist of a total of 100 questions from the All India Bar Examination syllabus. Earlier, the AIBE 2024 syllabus has three new topics namely Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. Candidates who will clear the All India Bar Examination will be awarded a Certificate of Practice which will enable them to practise as advocate in a court of law.

AIBE Exam Syllabus 2025

The AIBE syllabus 2025 will consist of law topics like constitutional law, IPC, family law, company law, environmental law, Land Acquisition Act etc. In the syllabus of AIBE exam 2025, Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure Code and Code of Civil Procedure will carry the maximum weightage. In the AIBE exam, 10 questions will be asked from each of these topics.

The AIBE exam syllabus 2025 will comprise 19 topics or subjects. These AIBE topics are further divided into smaller sub-topics. A detailed analysis of AIBE 20 subjects and syllabus 2025 are given below:

1. AIBE Constitutional Law: This topic focuses on the Constitution of India and will carry 10 questions. Constitutional law will include topics like history and nature of Indian constitution, union and its territory, concept of state, fundamental rights, relationship between fundamental rights and other parts of the constitution, Executive, Parliament and state legislature, centre-state relationship, union and state judiciary, emergency provisions, amendment of constitution etc.

2. AIBE Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (new): This section will comprise of topics like IPC 1860, overview of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (2023), landmark cases on IPC, crime and its elements, history and kinds of punishments, general exceptions of IPC, trivial acts, right of private defence, offence of abetment, criminal conspiracy, offences against the state, culpable homicide and murder, abetment of suicide, theft and extortion, crimes related to marriage etc.

3. AIBE Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.P.C) and Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (new): This subject will include topics like classes of criminal courts, court of session, courts of judicial magistrates, special judicial magistrates, sentences of imprisonment and all other important articles and sections of Cr. P.C.

4. AIBE Code of Civil Procedure (C.P.C): This section will comprise topics like initiation of civil proceedings, res judicata and res subjudice, interim relief, hearing and attendance of parties, framing of issues, decrees and orders, rules made by high courts etc.

5. AIBE Evidence Act and Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (new): This law topic in AIBE will comprise of sub topics like relevancy of facts, estoppel, admission, confession, oral and documentary evidence, statement by persons who cannot be called as witnesses, privileged communications, expert opinion, burden of proof, Examination of witnesses etc.

6. Alternative Dispute Redressal including Arbitration Act: This subject will contain topics like enforcement of awards, different dispute resolution methods, such as inquisitorial and adversarial, creation of tribunal and appointment of arbitrators, arbitration, conciliation, negotiation, and mediation.

7. AIBE Family Law: This section of AIBE comprises topics like marriage and kinship, introduction, sources of Hindu law, Hindu undivided family, law relating to Hindu minority and guardianship, inheritance and succession etc.

8. Public Interest Litigation: This subject includes topics like the concept of public interest litigation in India, judicial activism to public interest litigation act, procedural law in public interest litigation, the role of judiciary etc.

9. Administrative Law: This section will deal with topics like Relation with constitutional law, the nature and scope of administrative law, the judicial power of administration, corporations and public undertakings, judicial control of administrative actions etc.

10. AIBE Professional Ethics & Cases of Professional Misconduct under BCI rules: This subject includes topics on the legal profession and its responsibilities, selected major supreme court judgments, duty to the court, selected opinions of the Bar Council of India etc.

11. AIBE Company Law: The company law section of AIBE comprises topics like the issue of shares, the Companies Act, 1956, FEMA Act, 1999, AOA, SEBI Act, 1992 etc.

12. AIBE Environmental Law: This subject will contain topics like International conventions in the development of environmental law, Environment Protection Act, 1986, international law and environmental protection, environmental policy and law, biological diversity and legal order, prevention and control of pollution etc.

13. AIBE Cyber Law: The Cyber Law subject of AIBE 20 will comprise topics like fundamentals of cyberspace, types of cyber crimes, penalties and offences under IT act, legal issues in cyber contract and IT act, 2000, UNCITRAL model on electronic commerce, Indian penal law and cyber crime etc.

14. AIBE labour and Industrial Laws: This section contains topics like introduction to law and industrial dispute act, 1947, labour welfare legislations, trade unions act 1926, minimum wages act, 1948 etc.

15. AIBE Law of Tort, including Motor Vehicle Act and Consumer Protection Law: This subject will have questions from topics like the general condition of liability in tort, remedies and damages, personal capacity, justification of tort, consumer protection act, 1986 etc.

16. AIBE Law related to Taxation: This section comprises topics like direct taxes, Indirect taxes, income tax act, 1961, customs and duties etc.

17. AIBE Law of Contract, Specific Relief, Property Laws, Negotiable Instrument Act: This subject of AIBE 20 exam will comprise topics like remedies and quasi-contracts, validity, discharge, and performance of contract law, bailment and pledge, specific contract, doctrine of election etc.

18. Land Acquisition Act: This section contains topics like preliminary investigation, declaration of intended acquisition, temporary occupation of land, award by the collector, publication of the preliminary notification and acquisition of land for companies, payment of damages, things determined while granting compensation etc.

19. AIBE Intellectual Property Laws: This subject in AIBE will have questions from Indian copyright law, introductory aspects, trademarks, patents, geographical indications etc.

What is new in AIBE Syllabus?

The AIBE 20 syllabus is the same as the AIBE exam syllabus for the previous session. BCI has not notified any changes in the AIBE syllabus 2025. The AIBE 20 cut off will remain at 45% for general/OBC categories and 40% for SC/ST categories.

The Bar Council of India will release the AIBE 20 exam pattern along with the AIBE 20 syllabus. The AIBE 20 paper pattern will comprise important details related to the exam like duration of the exam, type of questions, nature of questions, marking scheme etc. Students must go through the AIBE exam pattern 2025 to get a detailed understanding of how the exam will be conducted.
