Before applying for the law programmes at top private law colleges in India, candidates must make sure they fulfil the eligibility criteria for the respective law programmes. Given below is the eligibility criteria for 5-year LLB, 3-year LLB and LLM.
5-year LLB: Candidates must have cleared class 12 with a minimum percentage of passing marks as prescribed by the exam authorities. Students appearing for their class 12 exams can also apply provided they submit their qualifying certificates at the time of admission.

CLAT - The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities. At present over 60 private colleges are affiliated with the CLAT. Through these exams, candidates can enrol into 5-year LLB and LLM programmes.
LSAT—India - The Law School Admission Test—India is conducted by the Law School Admission Council and administered by Pearson Vue.
SLAT -The Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) is conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission into 5-year LLB programmes of the four Symbiosis Law Schools namely SLS Pune, SLS Noida, SLS Nagpur, and SLS Hyderabad.
SLS AIAT - Through SLS All India Admission Test (AIAT) candidates are admitted into the three year LLB and LLM programmes of Symbiosis Law Schools.
