CLAT 2026 will be conducted from 2 PM to 4 PM in offline mode at the designated exam centres across the country. Candidates must report to the exam centre at the prescribed reporting time and also carry a printout of the CLAT 2026 admit card.

The Consortium of NLUs has opened the CLAT 2026 registration on August 1, 2025, in online mode. Candidates can submit the CLAT application form from the official website - consortiumofnlus.ac.in before October 31, 2025. The CLAT registration 2026 is opened for 5-year LLB and one-year LLM programmes offered by participating national law universities (NLUs).
Candidates have to follow the steps as mentioned below to complete their registration.
The CLAT 2026 registration will be Rs. 4,000 for general and OBC candidates and Rs. 3,500 for SC, ST, BPL and PwD candidates. After the application form is closed, the Consortium of NLUs will also open an application correction window.
The Consortium of NLUs will release the CLAT admit card 2026 tentatively two weeks before the exam. The admit card of CLAT 2026 is a mandatory document that every candidate must carry with them on the day of the exam. The admit card comprises important details like the name of the candidate, CLAT 2026 exam date, name of the exam centre, detailed address of the exam centre, timings of the test, important instructions and more. The CLAT admit card 2026 was available for download online only. Students can download their admit cards through the CLAT candidate portal.
The Consortium of NLUs will conduct CLAT 2026 on December 07, 2025 in a single shift from 2 pm to 4 pm. The consortium usually conducts the exam on the first Sunday of December. The exam will be conducted at around 131 exam centres across the country. The CLAT exam is a pen and paper-based test based on comprehensive-type questions. According to the CLAT exam pattern 2026, there will be a total of 120 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be attempted in two hours. The CLAT syllabus 2026 comprises five subjects - English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques.

The Consortium of NLUs will release the CLAT provisional answer key 2026 tentatively 1-2 days after the exam. After releasing the CLAT answer key, the authorities will open an objection window online. Through this window, candidates will be allowed to raise their objections against the provisional answer key. After considering the objections raised by the students, the Consortium of NLUs will release the CLAT final answer key 2026. The CLAT 2026 result will be declared based on the final answer key.
The CLAT results 2026 will be declared tentatively one week after the exam. The CLAT 2026 scorecard will denote the marks secured by candidates in the entrance exam. It also specifies the All India Rank (AIR) and category rank secured by candidates in the test. Candidates who have a valid score in the CLAT 2026 results will be eligible to register for the counselling process.

The registrations for CLAT counselling 2026 started shortly after the announcement of the results. Candidates can complete the CLAT 2026 counselling registration online through their login. To register for the CLAT 2026 counselling process, candidates have to pay the counselling registration fee, which will be adjusted against the university fee.
There will be five rounds of centralised CLAT 2026 counselling. The authorities will publish the CLAT 2026 merit list for each round of counselling. Candidates included in the merit list are required to pay the confirmation fee and the university fees within the prescribed deadline to obtain seat allotment.
