The AILET 2026 examination for admission to NLU Delhi was successfully conducted, with the paper being easy to moderate in overall difficulty and closely aligned with the difficulty level observed last year. As per LegalEdge’s initial analysis, the exam maintained a predictable structure and tested concepts that were largely in line with standard AILET expectations.
The paper was balanced and manageable, with no major surprises in terms of structure or question types. LegalEdge observed that most sections were scoring for well-prepared candidates; however, the General Knowledge section emerged as the key differentiator and is expected to play a crucial role in determining ranks. Based on LegalEdge’s student feedback and faculty review, performance in GK is likely to decide the final edge in the merit list.
English Language
The English section was easy, featuring straightforward questions on reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar. Candidates with consistent preparation were able to attempt a high number of questions with strong accuracy.
Logical Reasoning
The Logical Reasoning section ranged from easy to moderate and remained well within the prescribed syllabus. Questions were asked from:
Syllogism
Blood relations
Coding–decoding
Series and pattern-based reasoning
Additionally, around four questions were based on Legal Principle–Fact application, testing candidates’ logical interpretation in legal contexts.

General Knowledge
The General Knowledge section was easy to moderate, though several students found it slightly tricky, making it the deciding factor. While many questions were direct, the blend of static GK and current affairs posed challenges for a section of aspirants.
Based on the overall difficulty level, student feedback, and previous year trends, the expected cut-off for AILET 2026 is likely to be around 120 marks out of 150.
For reference, the closing rank for NLU Delhi last year was AIR 61, highlighting the intense level of competition for the limited seats.
Overall, AILET 2026 can be described as a student-friendly paper, where accuracy, composure, and strong General Knowledge preparation are expected to play a decisive role in final rankings.
All the best to all students!
