Following the month of December, you will need to start focusing on your board examination. Remember that the board exam is equally important because you need to secure 75% (65% for SC/ST category) or be in the top 20 percentile of your respective board to be eligible for admissions into NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. However, make sure you follow your weekly revision and do not stop attempting mock tests and solving sample papers. The usual gap between the 12th standard board examination and JEE Main is about a month. During this month, try to complete your revision and not learn new chapters or topics. This may confuse and lead you to pay less attention to those topics which you have already studied.

For JEE Main rank 168,908, admission to top tier NITs and IIITs will be tough but you may seek state level engineering colleges or lower tiers NITs through home state quota.

Yes, you qualify for the SC reservation quota under the Home State Quota in NIT Karnataka since you hold a Caste Certificate (SC) and a Karnataka domicile certificate.

You will be taken into account for the All India SC category reservation for other NITs around India. For NIT admissions nationwide, you can take use of the reservation benefits in JEE Main as long as you possess a valid SC certificate from Karnataka. But make sure all of your paperwork is in order and accepted by the JEE officials.

Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to Careers360 with your JEE Mains questions. I totally get it - preparing for such a big exam in 6 months can feel pretty daunting.

For JEE Mains prep in 6 months, you'll want to focus on the core topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Math. Some key areas to drill down on:

Physics: Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Optics

Chemistry: Physical Chemistry, Organic reactions

Math: Calculus, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry

The good news is that JEE Mains prep does cover a lot of ground for BITSAT too. There's quite a bit of overlap in the syllabus. You might just need to brush up on a few extra topics for BITSAT, but your JEE studying will definitely give you a solid foundation.

As for top colleges, the IITs are always popular choices. But don't forget to check out NITs and BITS Pilani too - they're excellent options.

Let me know if you need any more specific advice on your prep strategy. Wishing you all the best with your studies!
