    About LAT 2026

    The Allahabad University Law Admission Test (AU LAT) 2026 is the entrance examination for admission to the three-year LLB programme at the University of Allahabad and its constituent colleges. For the 2026 academic session, the official notification is expected in April 2026, with the online application window tentatively opening in the fourth week of April 2026. The entrance test is tentatively scheduled for the second week of June 2026. The university will open the AU LAT 2026 application form in April 2026. Candidates had to pay an application fee of Rs. 1000 for the General, EWS and OBC categories and Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. The AU LAT 2026 entrance exam will be conducted in both online and offline modes  from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. The exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions making a total of 300 marks. The syllabus covers Language Comprehension (English and Hindi), General Awareness and Current Affairs, and Reasoning and Legal Aptitude. There is no negative marking in the AU LAT.

    Allahabad University offers a total of 975 seats through the Allahabad University LAT entrance exam in which around 10,000 candidates participate every year. Allahabad University LLB admission 2026 through LAT 2026 will be based on merit cum preference criteria. The merit list is prepared based on candidates' performance in the examination. Successful candidates will be invited for counselling in late June or July based on their merit rank.

    What is LAT exam?

    The Allahabad University LLB 2026 (AU LAT) is an entrance exam that is conducted in both online and offline modes. The AU LAT 2026 is considered for admission to the 3-year LLB programme. The syllabus of Allahabad University 3 year LLB entrance exam 2026 focuses on subjects such as General Awareness, Language Comprehension and Legal Aptitude. The AU LAT exam pattern includes a total of 150 multiple-choice questions and a duration of 2 hours, with each question carrying two marks, totalling 300 marks. 

    Who can apply for AU LAT 2026?

    Candidates who fulfill the LAT eligibility criteria 2026 can apply for the examination. As per the LAT 2026 eligibility, the candidates should have completed graduation with minimum qualifying marks from a recognised university. The minimum passing marks are 45% for general category students and 40% for SC and ST candidates.

     The Allahabad University LLB entrance exam 2026 will consist of 150 objective-type questions. Each correct response carries 2 marks. There is no negative marking. Questions in the examination are asked from the sections mentioned below.

    1) Language Comprehension 

    2) General Awareness and Current Affairs

    3) Reasoning, Mental Ability and 

    4) Legal Aptitude.

    The university and its affiliated law school will offer a combined intake of 975 seats through LAT. The number of seats in the course is 375 for the Faculty of Law (University of Allahabad), 300 for C.M.P. Degree College, and 300 for Allahabad Degree College (A.D.C.). Candidates shortlisted based on the LAT exam will be called for the counselling and seat allotment process, which is held in multiple rounds.

    AU LAT 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

    Candidates who will be appearing for the AU LAT 2026 exam are required to follow certain AU LAT 2026 exam day guidelines mentioned below:

    • Candidates will have to arrive at the AU LAT exam centre half an hour before the scheduled exam time.
    • Ensure that you have your AU LAT admit card with you while entering the exam hall.
    • Candidates must carry the admit card and one valid photo ID proof, such as an Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passport, or PAN card.
    • They should carry two pens (black or blue) and an HB pencil to mark answers on the OMR sheet.
    •  Electronic gadgets like mobile phones, digital watches, earphones, and calculators or any other materials, are prohibited inside the examination hall.
    • Candidates should not bring any study materials and should not follow any kind of unauthorised practices during the exam.
