What After CLAT PG 2026 Result?

After declaring the CLAT LLM result 2026, the Consortium of NLUs will open the CLAT PG counselling 2026 registration window. Candidates must then pay the counselling registration fee and register for the seat allotment process. There are no qualifying marks in CLAT PG 2026. All the candidates who have a valid score in CLAT PG 2026 and have received counselling invites will be eligible to register for CLAT PG 2026 counselling. CLAT 2026 PG counselling will be conducted in online mode.

Submission of NLU Preference List

Candidates have to submit the NLU preference list after the declaration of the CLAT PG 2026 result. The NLU preferences can be submitted by the candidates through their login. Candidates can gain seat allotment in only those NLUs that are part of their preference list. So, maximum preferences should be submitted to increase one's chances of admission.

CLAT PG Merit List 2026

After the window for CLAT PG counselling registration is closed, the Consortium of NLUs will publish the CLAT PG merit list 2026 for each round of counselling. The CLAT PG merit list will be published for each participating NLU. Candidates are allotted seats based on their CLAT PG score, NLU preferences, and the category they belong to. The candidates would then have to complete admission formalities to obtain a seat allotment.

CLAT PG Tie Breaker Rule

If two or more candidates have the same CLAT PG score in the CLAT PG result 2026, then the tie would be resolved as per the tiebreaker rule specified by the Consortium.

• Candidates of senior age would be given a higher rank.

• If the tie remains unresolved, then computerised lots will be drawn

What is a Good Score in CLAT PG 2026?

Going by previous year trends, a good score in CLAT PG 2026 is likely to be 70+ for admission into top NLUs. The closing rank for CLAT PG is usually below 600 for the top 5 NLUs. Controversy Regarding Last Year's CLAT 2025 Result

Last year, the results of CLAT and CLAT PG 2025 caused a lot of inconvenience due to mistakes in the question paper and the answer key. Students challenged this matter in court. The HC heard multiple petitions filed by the candidates alleging errors in the question paper, including out-of-syllabus questions and poorly framed questions, and a limited period to raise objections. Later, the consortium published the CLAT PG 2025 revised final answer key after the HC judgement delivered on June 6, 2025. The CLAT PG 2025 results were declared as per the revised final answer key, where 2 questions were withdrawn, and answers to five questions were changed in the revised CLAT PG final answer key. This incident led to nearly a six-month delay in the CLAT 2025 results.
