The Consortium of National Law Universities has closed the CLAT 2026 registration window on November 7, 2025. Candidates interested in taking the Common Law Admission Test 2026 who have not registered for the exam could apply at consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2026. The direct link to the registration form is given below. The CLAT 2026 application correction window was also closed. Candidates who have registered for CLAT 2026 could make changes to details entered or edit the test centre preferences by November 9, 2025, 11:59 pm. Earlier, the CLAT 2026 registration was scheduled to end on October 31, 2025 but got extended. The CLAT 2026 registration process commenced on August 1, 2025. Candidates who are planning to appear for the exam must complete their online registration before the CLAT 2026 registration last date.
The CLAT 2026 exam date is December 7, 2025. The Common Law Admission Test will be conducted at more than 100 exam centres in more than 89 cities. A lot of debate is also going on around the CLAT 2026 application fee, which is Rs. 4000 for General category candidates. Candidates can apply for CLAT exam 2026 by following to below-given steps:
Log on to the official website of CLAT - consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
Click on the “New Registration” tab and complete basic registration by entering mobile number, email address and verify through OTP.
Next, log in with your mobile number and password
Enter all the required personal, academic and communication details in the given sections.
Also, upload the scanned copies of your photograph and signature in the format prescribed above.
The final step of the application process is payment of the registration fee.
Pay the prescribed registration fee in your preferred mode of payment and keep a copy of the payment confirmation for future reference.

More than 15 NLU student bodies out of a total of 26 NLUs have launched an online petition demanding reduction in CLAT registration and counselling fees. The student bodies have said that the “exorbitant” counselling fee and application fee have become a barrier for students coming from weaker financial backgrounds. As of now, the CLAT 2026 registration fee stands at Rs. 4000 for general and OBC category candidates and Rs. 3500 for other categories. Similarly, the CLAT counselling fee is Rs. 30,000, and if candidates want to confirm their admission in the allotted college, they must further pay Rs. 20,000.
