The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has announced the CLAT 2026 exam schedule. As per the notification, CLAT 2026 exam will be held on December 07, 2025. The CLAT application form has been opened on August 1, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for CLAT 2026 by visiting the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The Consortium of NLUs usually conducts the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) exam on December 7, 2025. The CLAT exam will be held in offline mode, and the exam timings is from 2 pm to 4 pm. Candidates can check the complete schedule below.

The consortium has released the CLAT 2026 notification on July 20. The notification also mentions the CLAT 2025 exam date, application opening and closing dates.
The CLAT 2026 application process commenced on August 1, 2025. The CLAT 2026 registration window is activated online at the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The deadline to complete the CLAT 2026 registration is October 31, 2025. Eligible candidates can register themselves using their mobile number and email address. The application form for CLAT 2026 can be filled out in five steps as mentioned below.
Enter personal information - name, date of birth, photo, phone number, email, caste status etc.
Communication details - Provide a current and permanent address
Education - Enter school education details and college education details if applicable
Select exam centres - Candidates can select three exam centres in order of preference. The CLAT exam will be held in 130+ test centres across the country. The complete list of exam centres will be displayed on the application form only.
Provide reservation details - Candidates have to select NLUs based on their preferences. Some of the NLUs also offer domicile reservation for which candidates can provide their reservation status.
Submit CLAT application form and fees - The application fee for CLAT 2026 is Rs. 4000 for general candidates and Rs. 3500 for SC/ST/BPL candidates
The consortium will issue the admit cards for CLAT around 15 days before the exam. The CLAT 2026 admit card is mandatory for appearing in the exam. Candidates can download their hall tickets using their CLAT registration ID/mobile number and password/date of birth.
As mentioned above, the CLAT 2026 exam date will likely be December 07, 2025. The CLAT 2026 will be an offline exam where candidates will be provided with question booklets and OMR sheets. The CLAT question paper will have 120 questions from various topics mentioned in the syllabus. The CLAT syllabus has five sections — English language, general knowledge and current affairs, maths, legal aptitude, and logical reasoning. The distribution of questions and marks for CLAT 2026 is given below.
The answer key is released either in the late evening, on the day of the examination or on the next day. CLAT answer key will be hosted on its official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The initial answer key will be provisional, and candidates will have the opportunity to raise their objections against it. The CLAT final answer key 2026 will be released subsequently after taking into consideration the validity of objections.
The consortium will announce the CLAT 2026 results around the third or fourth week of December. Usually, CLAT results are announced along with the final answer key. Candidates will be able to download CLAT scorecards online from the login portal. The result of CLAT mentions roll number, marks obtained by the candidate, all-India rank and category rank.
Along with the CLAT results 2026, the consortium will also prepare an invite list. Candidates included in the CLAT invite list will be eligible for participation in the counselling. The details of CLAT counselling and dates are announced separately.
