Calcutta University Law Entrance Test - CULET

Calcutta University Law Entrance Exam (CULET) 2026: Calcutta University will release the CULET application form 2026 tentatively in May-June 2026. The university conducts CULET for admission to 5-year integrated LLB courses offered by Calcutta University and various affiliated law schools in West Bengal. The CULET-UG (Calcutta University Law Entrance Test) is a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Around 4,000 students participate in CULET every year.  

The exam is followed by a centralised CULET counselling. Only candidates shortlisted based on merit are invited for the counselling. Selection will be made strictly based on merit and the availability of seats. The university will conduct multiple rounds of counselling for admission into its BA LLB programme. Together, Calcutta University and its affiliated colleges will offer around 1914 seats. 

What is the Calcutta University BA LLB Entrance Exam?

The Calcutta University BA LLB entrance exam, or CULET, is an entrance test conducted once every year. The exam is held for BA LLB admissions in Calcutta University and its affiliated law colleges. The CULET 2025 syllabus comprises four subjects - General English, General Awareness/Current Affairs, General Mathematics and Reasoning (Verbal & Non-verbal). The CULET question paper will have 100 multiple-choice questions, and there is no negative marking. The exam duration will be 2 hours.
