Once Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Law results are declared, the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) commences in July 2026. Candidates are required to register on the admission portal, upload academic documentation, and provide a prioritised list of college preferences during CAP rounds. Seats are subsequently allotted in the CAP rounds based on the candidate's merit rank, category, and the specific admission criteria of the participating law schools.

After the announcement of MH CET law results, the State CET Cell conducts the centralised admission process (CAP) for all participating government and private law universities. Candidates who secure a non-zero CET score or percentile are eligible to participate in the CAP by registering on the official portal and uploading necessary documents for e-verification. During this phase, candidates exercise choice filling by providing a prioritised list of their preferred law schools. The CAP consists of three rounds of counselling, each followed by a seat allotment list.
The allotment of seats is strictly governed by merit cum preference, taking into account the candidate’s rank and category. Once a seat is allocated, candidates must log in to the portal to accept the seat and pay the required seat acceptance fee. At this stage, candidates can choose to freeze their allotted seat if they are satisfied or opt for betterment to try for a higher-preference college in the further CAP round. If a candidate is allotted their first preference, the seat is auto-frozen. Final admission is confirmed only after the candidate completes physical reporting at the allotted institution for original document verification and payment of the admission fees.
